Tulare County Animal Services works in conjunction with the Tulare County Sheriff's Office to investigate cases of animal abuse. Their role is to identify the abuse and work with law enforcement to build and pursue a case. In the field, our Animal Care Officers (ACOs) often provide education to our community members as, much of the time, instances of neglect are due to a lack of education on appropriate pet care and/or a lack of access to affordable and convenient veterinary care.

In 2023, Tulare County Animal Services received 176 calls to assist law enforcement and 356 calls to investigate cruelty and neglect.
